Waves Shape

JULY / AUGUST

We have a lot to celebrate this month:

Congratulations go to DALE who has qualified as a SPORTS DIVER.

NARELLE, PAUL, ROSIE, KEVIN and MARIA who have all completed their OCEAN DIVER training.

Kelly and David have started their open water training and Nancy and Lois have completed their pool assessments and ISAAC has started dry suit training.  Well done all.

We also welcome to the club SEBASTIAN and MONICA who will start their pool training in September.

We had another good trip to Seal reef at Loch Fyne where Rosie, Kevin and Maria had their first sea dives. there were lots of life on the reef, we had sightings of squid, dogfish, a scorpionfish trying to eat a long clawed squat lobster, lobster, cod and a shoal of small pollack.

Unfortunately Bob’s trip to Beadnell was cancelled due to the weather.

JUNE

Congratulations to SAMANTHA who has recently completed her Ocean Diver qualification, we wish her safe and enjoyable diving.

We have a number of trainees who have recently started their open water training – Holly, Maria, Rosie, Narelle and Paul are all progressing nicely.  It is great to see more female members joining our diving family.

It has  been very busy in the pool; we welcome our newest members LOIS and NANCY who have started their Ocean Diver training this month and we have had  a number of Try Dives with more to come this month.

Open water training has definitely increased lately with plenty of trips to Capernwray and Crummock completed and in the pipeline for July and August.

Dive trips coming up this month include Bob’s trip to the Farne Islands (1 space left) and a day at Loch Fyne, hopefully some trainees will enjoy their first sea dive.

Our Chair and Diving Officer have just completed a week’s Seasearch trip to the Orkney Islands, we look forward to hearing all about it and seeing some great photos.
